Conservation Projects

We fund and support local conservation projects and sustainability. A dollar per person who goes on tour with us goes to Pu’u Kukui Watershed Preserve. We acknowledge our impact and strive to leave a positive result through our environmental and educational work.

Pu’u Kukui Watershed Preserve is the largest private nature preserve in the state of Hawai’i, responsible for taking care of the most pristine watershed extending across more than 9,000 acres from ma uka to ma kai of Mauna Kahālāwai on Mauiʻs West side. The unique biodiversity of the area is extremely rare and a wonder to see. This area is a vital water source for Mauiʻs community and one of the wettest spots on earth and is home to some of the rarest endangered flora and fauna in the islands. Conservation endeavors include non-native invasive species control, weed control, monitoring, research and most importantly protecting rare species.

We acknowledge that the survival of native species depends upon the health of he ‘aina (land) and needs our help to protect this sacred environment. $1 per person per tour goes directly to Pu’u Kukui Watershed, you can add more to your donation when you book, should you please. Your contribution is much appreciated.
